Weather Policy as copied from the Student Handbook

Parents need to have their children dressed appropriately for the weather.  When the temperature is below 45 degrees all children should have jackets or coats to wear.  During winter weather children are required to wear winter clothing such as coats, hat, mittens, snow pants and boots.  If your child/children does not have snow pant s and snow boots on when snow is on the ground they will be required to stay on the asphalt.  When temperatures fall below zero degrees, children will have inside recess.  Once the temperature reaches 45-55 degrees your child/children will have a choice in wearing either a coat or a light jacket/sweatshirt outside.  When temperature is 55 degrees or higher it is the child’s decision what they wear outside.

In case of severe weather closings or early dismissals, parents will be notified by a telephone call through the School Reach calling system.  Closing will also be broadcasted on Brooking radio stations (KBRK 1430 AM, B93.7 FM, KJJQ 910 AM, KKQQ 102.3 FM, or KDBX107 FM) If there is an early dismissal due to severe weather, teachers will follow dismissal protocol outlined by parents on their child’s emergency forms.  If there is a change in emergency information parents should contact their child’s teacher or the school secretary to update the emergency forms.
